FORGO EAR PIECE

This conceptual device was made to assist its users in the predicted future, 2o50.

I looked into problems many people face around the globe, and the lack of Hygiene was presented heavily in my research findings.

I thought of personal problems I face in my daily life revolving around hygiene - and I thought about the times I always forget to brush my teeth. Many days, during semester, early classes often make me rush in the morning to catch a train and forgetting to brush my teeth made it a huge problem once I got to campus.

So I wanted to try make a device that could counter this problem. Because it could really improve personal hygiene. I did research on future technology, and found many devices that interacts with no physical touch, but via body temperature - like hovering. This could be a valuable aspect of my device as it not only will it encourage my idea of hygiene, but it will also make it easier for the user in terms of not having to apply any effort into anything.

Part of the second semester, in DESIGN 243, led by Haimo Zhang - this was my final conceptual product for the first assignment.

Visualization details; the external cover is made from DuPont Vespel - a heat resistant plastic that has no melting point. The air pockets is made of solar panel material - Silicon. The aesthetics was iterated many times, with the main criteria being that the piece should be hardly recognizable to the human eye. Plain and simplicity was a huge factor in the appearance.

How it works? Well - it is simple. The device comes with a companion app that the user uses to configure and set their ideal reminder times to perform their hygiene activities.
