Technical/Tools - Adobe Photoshop

I have many favorite software, tools and machines when it comes to designing and manufacturing my ideas into objects.

One of these would be the Adobe Photoshop program.

Adobe Photoshop is a software used to enhance, edit and create images with a 'few clicks'. It is highly convenient, especially in the Design world (Smith, 2019).

Changing backgrounds, simulating a real-life painting, or creating an alternative view of the universe are all possible with Adobe Photoshop. It is the most widely used software tool for photo editing, image manipulation, and retouching for numerous image and video file formats.

Also, the Photoshop tool is convenient due to the help it provides to users who are entirely new to the software. The program provides in-depth tutorials and tips to get the user started, as well as help improve the knowledge of past users on the program, when it updates.

Why I favor this software, is because although I am still getting used to the program, it has helped me gain a skill in manipulating and creating visual imagery, according to how I want it to be. I still have a long way to go, but I know for a fact that once I have 'mastered' the tricks in Photoshop, I can become capable of creating excellent pieces of Design.

I can use Photoshop for many things; creating a movie poster, editing photos to make them look better, create graphic compositions for my portfolio, and many more things.

Although the program reveals promising results for designers, there are disadvantages to the tool. The program is not free, and it cost a huge sum of money to get it activated on your device. Also, the program is not highly recommended for 'beginner' designers, as the interface is very complex and it can be a hassle to get started. Thankfully, they have tutorials in the latest version (Photoshop 2020). The space requirement needed to install this program is also large. The software is a huge one, and an ideal computer with decent amount of RAM is required to man this tool (Soffar, 2015).

Overall, the software is a great tool for designers. I believe every designer/non-designer will know this tool, if they have not heard about it already. Although, the program comes with a heavy price, a large requirement of space storage and a hassle interface for beginners - the convenience of the software is worth it.
